OUR PROJECTS

Namaste! The Open Your Hands Foundation provides assistance in the form of educational materials and equipment, school renovations and maintenance, and teaching stipends for educators and their assistants in rural Nepali schools. In our four years of operation, we have privately funded a range of projects from the rebuilding of one school entirely to providing uniforms for every child, and attendance at the three schools we work with has grown. (That’s one of the schools we support on top of the challenging, terraced mountainside above.) We’ve also installed smokeless chimneys and cookstoves at 150 homes of the village’s poorest families, so they no longer have to cook and heat with unvented, open brush fires indoors.
